Origins and Expansion
The story of Haldiram’s traces back to the visionary entrepreneur Ganga Bishan Agarwal, affectionately known as Haldiram Ji. In Bikaner, he laid the foundation of a small namkeen shop that quickly gained popularity for its exceptional bhujia, a traditional Indian snack. The immense demand for the distinctive flavors paved the way for the expansion of Haldiram’s.
Guided by the pioneering spirit of Mr. Shiv Kishan Agrawal, Haldiram’s grandson, the company embarked on a transformative journey. Recognizing the potential to take bhujia beyond the boundaries of Bikaner, Haldiram’s relocated its operations to Nagpur in 1970. This strategic move facilitated the establishment of the first full-production unit, introducing a wide range of savory snacks, sweets, and beverages to the market. The venture proved to be a resounding success, setting the stage for Haldiram’s to emerge as an integral part of every Indian household.
