Rune was an interesting and well-developed main character. The romance between Rune and Gideon was reminiscent of the one in Serpent and Dove, but it lacked the chemistry and delicious banter that Lou and Reid had. The magic system in this book is outstanding where most of the witches need to use blood to do their spells
