Mark Greenberg, born in Chicago in 1955, majored in electrical engineering in college and attended Northwestern University Medical School. During his residency, he created the Handbook of Neurosurgery on his first IBM PC with no hard drive, later partnering with Thieme Medical publishers for the 5th edition in 2005. The 9th edition is full of useful information, including full-color illustrations and about 100 sections for ease of use.
